Govt. Model Industrial Training Institute Nalagarh was established in the year 1965 as Rural Industrial Training Institute with four trades. After this, this institute has been step up many steps of success up to present. This Institute has made remarkable success in development of infrastructure, commencement of new trades, running extra units of the trades, modernisation of training techniques and registering as much as possible establishments under apprenticeship shames.
Success in Upgradation with commencement of new trade, augmentation in intake capacity and modernisation of training techniques :- in the year 1965 as Rural Industrial Training Institute with four trades i.e. Fitter, Electrician, welder and carpenter with intake capacity of 64 trainees including all and In the year 1983 Rural Industrial Training Institute was upgraded to Industrial Training Institute. The Mechanic Motor Vehicle Trade shifted to Industrial Training Institute, Nalagarh from Industrial Training Institute, Solan in the year 1997. The institute got succeed in increasing intake capacity from 64 trainee up to 90 Trainees of five trades. Later on, in year 2002 this Institute had constituted Institute Management Committee for Industrial Training Institute and starts one unit each of Electrician, Fitter, Mechanic Motor Vehicle and Welder. In this way the intake capacity increased from 90 trainees of five units to 179 trainee of nine units. This Institute had been upgraded under PPP mode in the year 2007-08 and Five new trades has been introduced under CTS Scheme i.e. Electronic Mechanic, Draughtsman(Civil), Desktop Publishing Operator, Driver cum Mechanic and Machinist. Additional units of existing trade are also start under PPP Mode. The biggest success this institute got when In the year 2015 Govt. upgraded in to Govt. Model Industrial Training Institute under scheme Covrage-29 ITI’s from one each state. Also This Institute had been upgraded from PPP mode to Model in the year 2015 and Five new trades has been introduced under Model Scheme i.e. Electrican, Turner,Food Production(Gen) , Fitter and Machinist. Total cost of the upgradation is Rs.1000/- (Lakhs). After this the training providing techniques got modernised so as to keep pace with the new emerging technology in industrial sector. As present the institute is succeed in providing modern training to 705 trainee of 36 units.
